Friendly Reminder for Parents: As we wrap up the school year, please take a moment to check your child’s lunch account balance. Important Notes: 🥪Any remaining balance WILL transfer to next school year. 🍎If your child’s account is below $5, you will continue to receive automated phone calls over the summer until the balance is above that amount. 🫛If you are moving or leaving the district, please contact the Business Office regarding your lunch account. Thank you for staying on top of this—let’s head into summer with one less thing to worry about!

Today, our 6th graders took a travel day to Grand Forks! The day consisted of a delightful picnic lunch, enjoying the beautiful outdoors and each other's company. 🧺🌳 Then they put their problem-solving skills to the test at the Grand Forks Escape Room. Each room offered unique challenges, and our students showed teamwork, creativity, and determination. 🧠🔍 A huge thank you to the staff at Grand Forks Escape Room for providing such an engaging experience and to everyone that helped make this field trip happen!

Over the last several weeks our district has been asked by some residents why a gymnasium included in the referendum plan. This video captures all that happens over the course of a single day in Langdon Area Elementary School's current cafeteria/gymnasium. This room is the only place that can host physical education, breakfasts, lunches, performances and events at the elementary school. It is used practically non-stop during the school day, which requires constant cleaning, set up, tear down, and makes it very difficult to manage the schedule for its use. For example, when inclement weather requires indoor recess, the gym cannot be used because of lunches. Students instead return to their classrooms, which eliminates teachers' usual preparation time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C37ygyCmUQU During listening sessions held earlier this year to help develop the referendum plan, the lack of dedicated space for physical education and activities was the top concern identified by staff and community members. Our district decided it was vitally important to address this challenge in tandem with the completion of our biggest maintenance needs and included it in the referendum plan. Visit our dedicated referendum website for more details about what the referendum would accomplish if approved.
