We are excited to announce that Rayelynn, a 6th grader at LAES, has been chosen as our Cardinal Time Captain for October! ❤️ As this month's Captain, she helped lead our school-wide Cardinal Time assembly, celebrate student successes, and represent what it means to show Cardinal Pride. 🧪✨ LAES Science Fair! ✨🧪 Our young scientists have been working hard on their projects...Come support their work on Wednesday, October 29th, 3:30–5:00 PM. The 6th Grade will be hosting a bake sale as well. 🍪

The Langdon Area - Munich Cardinals football team will take on the Northern Cass Jaguars in the opening round of the Class A football playoffs here in Langdon on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 2:00 pm. All playoff games are NDHSAA events so no passes are accepted. Ticket information is attached. All student tickets are $5 and Adult tickets purchased online through GoFan are $10. If you pay in cash at the gate adult tickets are $15. Good Luck Cards!

❄️ Cold Weather Reminder! 🧣🧤 Temperatures are starting to drop, meaning the cold weather is coming! Please start sending students with warm gear — coats, hats, mittens/gloves, snow pants, and boots. We go outside as long as the wind chill is at or above -20°. 🧥 Label everything! Especially those black BOGG boots. This helps make sure lost items find their way back to their owners. 🚌Once the snow hits, bus riders will not be allowed on the bus without their proper winter items!

A big thank you to the Flink and Pengilly families for donating pumpkins to some of our classes! 🎃 Our students were so excited to get creative and celebrate the season with their very own pumpkins. 🧡

🚨Today, Officer Beck joined us in the elementary building to help students practice our lockdown drill. Before the drill, each class read a story and reviewed all of our safety procedures so that everyone knew exactly what to do. We’re so thankful for Officer Beck and the Cavalier County Sheriff's Department's support and for our students’ attention and cooperation in keeping our school safe! ❤️

📅 Schedule Reminder! LAS DOES have school tomorrow (Thursday) — but remember, no school on Friday, October 17th! 🙌 Because of the day off on Friday, there will be no STEAM this Thursday.

📢 Respiratory Vaccine Clinic Reminder 💉 Langdon Area Schools hosted the respiratory vaccine shot clinic today! Just a friendly reminder that if your student experiences mild symptoms tonight, it may be a normal reaction to the vaccine. If you missed today’s clinic, there’s another opportunity! They will be hosting a second shot clinic on Friday, October 17th at the Cavalier County Health Office— perfect timing since we do not have school that day. Stay healthy, Cardinals! ❤️

🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week Fun! 🔥🚒 A huge thank you to our Langdon Fire Department for visiting LAES today! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 Our students loved the assemblies and getting an up-close look at the fire truck! 🚒❤️ We’re so grateful for all you do to keep our community safe! 🙌
