Parents and Guardians,
Congratulations to all our students for a successful completion of the first quarter of the school year! Their hard work is paying off, and it’s been a quarter of growth and progress.
Due to recent updates to PowerSchool and supporting software, we can no longer send report cards through a quick bulk email as we have in the past. Q1 grades have been saved and are available to view on your student’s PowerSchool account online. If you would like a copy of the report card, we’d be happy to provide one by either email or sending a paper copy home. Please reach out to either ethen.askvig@k12.nd.us or marnie.thielbar@k12.nd.us with your request, and we will get it to you as soon as possible.
For your reference, semester grades, which are the grades used for credit determination are calculated with the following weight: 45% Q1, 45% Q2, and 10% for the semester test. As we progress through Q2, the impact of Q2 grades on the semester grade will gradually increase, reaching these final percentages by semester's end. Additionally, eligibility checks are conducted each Wednesday morning and based on the students current semester grade.
With your support, we have already seen fewer failing grades this quarter. Thank you for all you do to help our students succeed!
Attached is the weekly bulletin and activities for Red Ribbon Week here at Langdon Area Schools next week. Have a great weekend.
