soaring foward

The Langdon Area School Board voted unanimously to present a referendum to the district voters.  The referendum will ask voters to consider new funding for deferred maintenance, remodeling for safety purposes, improving learning environments and increasing learning space at both the elementary and middle/high school.  The ballot for the referendum will take place on June 10th at the Langdon Area High School commons in parallel with our general school board election.

The school board has been working diligently to develop the best plan possible for the district. This was done by gathering feedback from students, staff and community members. It also included multiple assessments of infrastructure and learning environments by industry professionals. While assessing needs, the building envelope, such as roofing and exterior doors, were prioritized to maintain the longevity of our buildings. Building safety and comfortable learning environments were also identified as priorities by internal and external stakeholders.

The district is committed to transparency on how this plan was developed, the reason for it, and how it will impact students, staff, and the community. More details will be shared over the next two months. The district will host public meetings and share digital and print media. As always, I am glad to discuss the specifics of this plan with any constituent who would like to visit. Please do not hesitate to reach out at 701-256-5291.
